For years, rumors have swirled around the prospect of Costco Wholesale developing a location in Webster. Finally, after 12 years of hard work by the Webster Economic Development Corporation and City Council, the City of Webster is excited to con rm that the rumors are true!
Before the end of 2018, the world’s second-largest retailer will be opening in Webster on 20 acres of land near the new roadway network on the west side of I-45.
Costco is one of the greatest retail recruitment victories for the City. e multibillion-dollar global retailer o ers the community a robust list of high-quality goods for a low price. The store carries a wide selection of meat and seafood, fresh fruit and vegetables, including many organic choices, along with a bakery that o ers seasonal favorites and a sheet cake that has proven popular among members.
e warehouse also sells top brand electronics, including cameras, computers, and more at a discounted price. Costco is known for selling their products in bulk, saving the members money in the long run. The new location will even o er members discounted prices on gasoline at its gas station. Members can also take advantage of Costco Optical, Pharmacy, Photo, and Travel for memberships as low as $60 annually.
“Webster welcomes the world’s second-largest retailer to the city’s west side where Costco will experience great success in this vibrant market,” Mayor Donna Rogers said. “Costco’s advent to Webster is of great significance to the city in many ways, and I will be one of the first customers in line with a shopping cart, as Costco is a leader in so many categories.”
Currently, of the 746 warehouse clubs across the globe, there are eight locations in the Houston area. e City is excited to see the project finally come to fruition and for Webster residents to have this popular retailer right around the corner.
