Is My Ticket Eligible for Dismissal?

Some dismissals may be handled in the court office: 

  • Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility – If you had insurance that was valid on the date and time of your citation, you may present it to the court office any time before your court date for a no fee dismissal upon verification.

  • Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility - Subsequent – If you had insurance that was valid on the date and time of your citation, you may present it to the court office any time before your court date for a no fee dismissal upon verification.

  • Parked in Handicapped Space – If you had a handicapped placard that was valid on the date and time of your citation, you may present it to the court office along with a copy of the driver’s license that matches the placard, any time before your court date.

  • Fail to Display Driver’s License – If you had a driver’s license that was valid on the date and time of your citation, you may present it to the court office any time before your court date. There is a $10 dismissal fee for this violation, which must be paid on the day that proof is submitted to the court office.

  • Expired Registration – If your registration had been expired for less than 60 days, you may present your new registration receipt to the court office any time before your first court appearance. There is a $20 dismissal fee for this violation, which must be paid on the day that proof is submitted to the court office.

  • Expired Driver’s License – If your license had been expired for less than 60 days, you may present your renewed license to the court office any time before your first court appearance. There is a $20 dismissal fee for this violation, which must be paid on the day that proof is submitted to the court office.

  • Fail to Change Address on Driver’s License – If you have corrected your license, you may present your corrected license to the court office any time before your first court appearance. There is a $20 dismissal fee for this violation, which must be paid on the day that proof is submitted to the court office.

Some dismissals are subject to approval by the Court and require an appearance at court on your arraignment date:

  • Missing/Obscured License Plates – If you have corrected your license plates, you may appear in court on your assigned arraignment date and present your proof to the prosecutor. If dismissal is granted, there will be a $10 dismissal fee due on the date of dismissal.

  • Equipment Violations – If you have corrected the violation, you may appear in court on your assigned arraignment date and present your proof to the prosecutor. If dismissal is granted, there will be a $10 dismissal fee due on the date of dismissal.
