The Support Services Lieutenant is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the Criminal Investigations Division, the Communications & Records Division, and the Office of Professional Standards. This position is also responsible for being the agency program manager for the Texas Police Chiefs Association Law Enforcement Best Practices Recognition Program.
Lieutenant P.T. Bacon began his law enforcement career in 1993, as an officer with the City of Columbus, Texas. He then worked as Harris County Deputy Constable before joining the Webster Police Department in 1999. In 2000, he was named the police department employee of the year, and in June of 2004, he promoted to the rank of sergeant. As a sergeant, he supervised both dayshift, and nightshift patrol, the office of professional standards, the traffic, and crash investigations unit, and the special operations unit. He was promoted to Lieutenant in April of 2015, and assumed command of the Support Services Division.
Lieutenant Bacon earned an Associate degree in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He continues to further his education by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership. He holds a TCOLE Master Peace Officer License, as well as instructor certifications in many specialized areas. Lieutenant Bacon previously worked as an instructor at the University of Houston-Downtown, Criminal Justice Training Academy, and is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served in an infantry company and Scout/Sniper Platoon in the 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment.
